But I don’t understand Redis yet maybe someone could create an example where a rest api is included

Can you tell us more what you are trying to achieve with a concrete example of “your data/use case”?
In this Java method here you can see that the code is:
checking if the value is in Redis, of present set the cached value in the variable returnValue
If returnValue is null (no cache or not in cache) the Web service should be called.
